Adjustability
If the machine isn’t easy to adjust, chances are you won’t fully use all its features. Be sure the seat is easy to move and that it locks firmly in place. It should be simple to change the resistance level and simple to swap accessories. Adjustability is particularly important if the machine will have multiple users – it shouldn’t be a hassle.
Construction
The frame, cables and pulleys are critical features of home gyms. The frame should be made of 11 or 12 gauge tubular steel. Gauge refers to the thickness of the steel. The greater the gauge, the more sturdy, safe and durable the machine will be. Also look for frames that are welded rather than bolted in critical places where stress could become an issue.
Over 65% of the body's muscle mass resides in the lower body. By design, the leg muscles are the strongest muscle group, they burn more fat than any other part of the body, they can carry enormous weight for long distances and support the rest of the body through most non-leg related exercises. To say that thorough strength training for the legs will benefit the whole body is an understatement.
Leg Extension
Leg extensions work the quadriceps directly leaving your back out of the equation. Many physiotherapists and consults highly recommend a Leg Extensions a part of a rehabilitation program.
Leg Curl machines place direct stress on the rear of the legs, the Hamstrings. By working the hamstrings you are ensuring a full and balanced leg development.
Leg Press
Work your legs with maximum weights without placing undue stress on your lower back. We believe the Squat is the king of the leg exercises, the Leg Press Leg Press machine allows the user to make full use the whole range of motion without compromise. They are fantastic for overall leg development.
Seated Calf Raise
Again the seated calf will eliminate all stress on the lower back. It’s extremely difficult to develop good calves; constant high weigh and high repetition calf exercise are often required to get these growing.
