“ This stand is attached in the middle by one 5 inch steel sleeve, this steel sleeve is too short, and is only lightly welded and completely useless for the dynamic pressure/torque a heavy strike will supply to it. RFE International who warranty all Golds Gym products are completely un-interested in helping and have kindly ordered me the wrong part to solve the problem. Avoid at all costs, unless u strike very, very lightly! Thankfully the seller I used was very helpful and offered free refund and was well aware of RFE's current lazy attitude to helping. ”

Is this item okay to be left outside all year round?

How much kilo's can the frame handle , i want to hang a 45 kg kick/punch bag on it. is that possible without damaging (bending)the frame and not too much moving?

That weight would be fine for this stand, you may want a few weight disks to stand on the feet to stop any movement though.

Hi, is the speedball bracket removable? I would like to mount it on a wall.
it is not made as removeable,but you could do it if you really wanted by using the two holes given,to attach the bracket to the wall.

If i buy a punch bag do i need the chain or strap to attach to stand . also do i need weights to balance stand.

You will need to order the cahins as well. I would advise that you also order a cuople of weights as it keeps the stand stable.

Hi, I am looking to buy a punch bag stand and the bag to go with it - if I get this and the 4ft Lonsdale bag, do I need any other equipemtn/accessories? e.g. the chains mentioned in some of the questions on the site (though the bag claims it comes with hanging straps) or weights for the stand?
Is the speedball on this stand movable at all, either in height or orientation? The space i have for the stand is against a wall so having the bag & speedball on opposite sides doesn't work that well.

Hi Gabriel,
The straps that come with the Lonsdale 4ft bag would be fine to use, so you won't need to buy the chains. The stand is designed to hold heavy bags, so at the stage I wouldn't say you would need extra weights to hold it down, but if you do find it wobbles slightly then just get 2 x 10kg plates. That should be more than enough!
The speedball stand is in a fixed posistion, so unless you were to leave it off the frame you wouldn't be able to have it pushed against the wall.

What is the maximum weight of a punch bag that this stand can support without the frame bending? thanks

It is suitable for all heavy duty bags so you would be fine for 45-50Kg. I would recommend some weight disks on the feet to counter balance the stand and stop it moving.

The stand can be easyily taken apart and arrives flat pack so you will see how small. Also it is is not very heavy and will need some free weights to counter balance.

Hi my mother said that punch bags can damage the cartlidge in the elbows and my mother says the stand might hit the wall, is this preventable? Thanks, Luke

I can not see why it would hit the wall. You could use precautions by pinning the stand down or not putting it near a wall. As for the health related question you would need to seek advise from a physio or a health specilist.

You could screw it down but most people use weight to hold it still.

Yes it does not come with a bag. If you go to golds gym on our web site the standard plates will work.

Hi we would advise you to add weights to the bottom of the frame for support, the exact weight would depend on your use and the size of the bag. Thank you.
