The watch is water resistant upto 50m. Although it doesn't state you can swim in it I'd take it that it would be OK.

I have tried a polar HRM montior before with a medium strap and it was too long for me - is it possible to order a shorter strap for the FS1? Also, I have a very narrow wrist - would this one still fit, or would I need to find a ladies' one? Many thanks.

You can get a smaller strap fo this. we sell them for £6.98 + £3.99 Shipping. There is only one type of FS1 so would be sutible to fit all size wrists for male and female.

I want a heart rate monitor not a watch. Is the heart rate display in the Polar FS1 the same size as and therefore as clear as the time display which is shown in your brochure diagram?
