Hi
I am interested in buying the Weider Pro 5500 System, could you tell me what the increments in the weight stack are. As I don't wish the increments to be so large it is difficult to progress from one to the next. The machine will be used by my wife and myself.
Thanks
Neil
Hi Neil
The weight plates are all 12.5 lb/5.7Kg plates so this is the basic increment. However, due the pulley and leverage ratio way our gyms function, the resistance can be higher then the actual weight being lifted which therefore means the incremental differences will also be proportionally different. For example, an exercise with a resistance of 100Kg could only be using a weight of 50Kg to create this resistance. In this instance, the 2:1 ratio would apply to the weight stack increments, so you would actually feel a change in resistance of 25lb/11.4Kg between each weight plate.
Thanks
Katie

Hi Alan,
I have had my contact at the Weider distributers find a website that has a review on the Pro 5500 gym. Below is the link, I hope you find it useful.

Hi i am thinking of buying the Weider Pro 5500. i was wondering if it gym came with a bicep cur lbar to use with the preacher pad as the only bar i can see in the picture is the lat pull down bar?
many thanks wayne
Hi Wayne,
You could use the dumbbell handle to perform single handed bicep curls and achieve better results. Alternatively you could use the lat bar. For your reference this multigym is out of stock until September.

I am thinking of buying the Weider Pro 5500 for my son who is 16 years old and is approx 5'5". I have read that some multigyms are designed for users that are a bit taller and can be uncomfortable for smaller users - Will this one be suitable.
hi Nicky
Yes your son would be fine using this multi gym. It is a very good multi gym. If you wanted to purchase this we could get it to you the following day.
